The National Bargaining Council for the Road Freight and Logistics Industry (NBCRFLI) invites South African unemployed individuals to apply for Internship Programme for a period of 12 months.

JOB DESCRIPTION – HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN (BRAAMFONTEIN)

The role of an HR Intern includes but is not limited to:

  1. Provide administration support for the full Recruitment cycle through:
    O Prepare and post job adverts
    O Review and screen CV’s
    O In collaboration with the HC team, shortlist candidates in line with the selection criteria
    O Conduct screening interviews
    O Conducting recruitment verification checks (e.g. Lexis Nexis, Background,
    Reference etc.) and provide feedback to stakeholders.
    O Book and coordinate logistical arrangements for the assessment and recruitment process.
    O Coordinate and support the onboarding process (e.g. cell phone data, medical aid, Sanlam pension, employee identity cards) of all new employee i.e. checking and
    capturing of appointment pack SAGE and ensure accuracy.
    O Serve as a key contact for candidates throughout the attraction, interview and offer stages.
  2. Capture and maintain employee data on SAGE and ensure data quality (e.g.
    appointment packs, employee relations packs, disciplinary warnings and other supporting documentation etc.)
  3. Coordination and processing all employee HR documentation including new engagements,
    employee movements/relocation, promotions and terminations on the system within agreed timeframes.
  4. Facilitate and support the off-boarding process by providing exit documentation to relevant parties (Pension Fund Withdrawal Forms, Medical Aid, UI19).
  5. Coordinate and assist employees with arranging employee wellness sessions via the LYRA (ICAS) programme (as and when necessary)
  6. Implement, maintain, and review HR Admin processes, procedures, documents and templates to ensure legal compliance.
  7. Liaise with the various HR departments/Centres of Excellence to source and compile
  8. information, documentation, reports etc.
  9. To assist the HR team with the recruitment lifecycle for all roles within the Council.
  10. Ensure all activities are performed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.
  11. To undertake specific HR work programs, projects and research as determined by the HR Manager.
  12. Assist the HR team with any ad hoc tasks, assignments and duties including minute taking.
  13. Assist HR Head with the scheduling of HR team meetings, drafting of agendas, arranging venues, arranging lunch etc as and when required.
  14. Take ownership and accountability of your own performance and self-development.
  15. Regular feedback and communication with HR Manager/HRP’s on important and urgent business issues that requires input, direction or action.

Requirements

  • Matric or NQF 4 equivalent
  • Relevant NQF 6 Human Resources / or Industrial Psychology qualification
  • Applicant must be unemployed, and a South African Citizen by birth.

FUNDS ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP (BRAAMFONTEIN)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To perform all clerical duties as per processes, procedures, and standards in Funds Administration of NBCRFLI and in terms of the requirements of Pay outs and Processing section as required by the Region whilst empowering themselves with necessary skills and knowledge.

Job Objectives:

  • Timeous processing and calculation of applications for Pro Rata’s, sick leave, holiday, settled cases from arbitrations, refunds to employers and AWOL
  • Capture all manual applications on the system, allocate to a clerk, print out the application, calculate the pay out, send off for checking, make any necessary changes and then create batches for the supervisor to sign off and load onto the Bank.
  • Ensure all necessary supporting documentation is attached to applications, e.g. sick note for sick leave
  • Print out all online applications and perform spot checks, then create batches for the supervisor to sign off and load onto the Bank.
  • Identify and resolve anomalies.
  • Handle all walk in and electronic queries related to pay outs that are allocated to you
  • Update Foreigner bank account details if this duty is allocated to you
  • Reissuing Rejected payments and posting of Journals for employees, transferring funds
  • Perform other tasks as and when assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Process of all monthly employer contributions according to the main collective agreement.
  • Process special returns, cases and invoices
  • Ensure invoices and refunds are authorized by the Supervisor
  • Issuing and cancellation of invoices
  • Attending to stake holder queries
  • Manual capturing of special returns
  • Month end balancing and Financial Year End balancing
  • First and final checking of error logs
  • Perform any other related duties allocated by the Supervisors.

Essential requirements of the post

  • Matric Qualifications with Mathematics and/or accounting subjects
  • National Diploma or Degree in accounting and/ or finance.
  • Computer literacy and good typing skills
  • Knowledge of filing of documents and administration as well as record keeping
  • The candidate must have the ability to take instructions, pay attention to detail and work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Basic Report writing

Agreement Compliance Administrative Intern (Braamfontein)

Purpose of the Job
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Administrative Intern to join the office of the Agreement Compliance Manager. The intern will assist with a variety of administrative tasks, including conducting verification checks to ensure regions comply with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and consolidating reports from the regions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and
    document preparation.
  • Conduct verification checks to ensure regions comply with the Standard

  • Maintain and update records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Previous experience in an administrative role is advantageous but not required

CASE MANAGEMENT INTERN: WESTERN CAPE OPERATIONS

Purpose of the Job
To assist the Case Management Officer and Regional Manager to administer, coordinate and process disputes, referred to the Regional Office, in accordance with the requirements of current labour legislation, by administering referred cases from the date of receipt to the finalisation of each case including the handling of jurisdictional and process queries, written and verbal communications, correspondence and the allocation and scheduling of the required resources through the use of the administrative and computerised Case Management System of the CCMA as updated from time to time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform a client services function, or receiving visitors referred from client services to the office to enquire about specific cases and opening cases/files for those parties
    lodging a dispute if required.
  • Capturing of daily applications on Case management system denoting all aspects of the case to be dealt with
  • Screening files/ referrals to ensure that all details are correct, that the stipulated timelines are adhered to, and that the required signatories have signed
  • Scheduling of cases in terms of date, venue and time and informing both parties via fax and post of the details
  • Booking of interpreters and commissioners for cases and ensuring that a venue is booked timeously.
  • Once the commissioner has made an award/decision, send to senior personnel to check and then distribute outcome to all concerned parties
  • Coordinate and manage the rescission and review applications and assign commissioners and interpreters to provide a ruling, and in some cases schedule all
    relevant parties to attend if the matter is complex
  • Ensure that all recording equipment is in good working order and operational for all cases to be heard
  • Ensure all settlement agreements and compensation awards are loaded to the CCMA system to record for performance stats and accreditation status
  • Administer all condonation applications in terms of the rules in consultation with the Commissioner and report to Supervisor any challenges experienced.
  • Assist in all section 143 matters in respect of CCMA certification and ensure that the applicants follow the right process for enforcement.
  • Coordinate the Claims/Invoices Payment process by obtaining invoices from the commissioners/interpreters and ensuring that the supporting documents are attached, also includes the generation of invoices for wasted costs for parties.
  • Manage correspondence for the area including writing letters to parties, distribution of correspondence and responding to emails received from panellists and parties on daily basis
  • Ensure files are filed in numerical order and retrieval of labour court files which need to be submitted to the legal advisors
  • Receive monthly statistics from the CCMA and create a report on the referrals received, dismissed matter, unfair Labour practice, mutual interest, and other matters e.g. unilateral changes to terms and conditions of employment, TES matters settlement rate, jurisdiction and withdrawn matters
  • Assist in the review of panellists annually to ensure a competent pool of commissioners and interpreters are available for all cases

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric qualification
  • Relevant NQF6 qualification in Labour Relations/Human Resources

DISPUTES INTERNSHIP- (GAUTENG REGION -BRAAMFONTEIN)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for assisting and providing service and administrative duties to the Disputes section as required by the Gauteng Region and operations team whilst empowering themselves with necessary skills and knowledge.

Job Objectives:

  • Provide the first line of dispute resolution service to stakeholders
  • Open cases of dispute for Applicants
  • Ensure cases are correctly screened and captured manually and on the Case Management System
  • Providing support for telephonic enquiries and walk in clients
  • Ensure effective and responsive communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Screen cases and ensure correct interpretation of Dispute rules
  • Management of dates received from Commissioners and Interpreters
  • Scheduling of cases within prescribed time frames
  • Execution of Rulings and Awards within prescribed time frames
  • Ensure perusal of Awards and Rulings within prescribed time frames
  • Maintain and update the Case Management System
  • Ensure invoices are processed and submitted on time
  • Ensure effective administration of Commissioners, Interpreters, employees and employers engagement
  • Management and allocation of boardrooms
  • The overseeing of regional reconciliation and preparation of closed cases for submission of claims to the CCMA
  • Assist clients with Section 143 application
  • Ordering of stationery and downloading of recordings
  • Coordinate invoices and prepare spreadsheet for Commissioners and Interpreters

Essential requirements of the post

  • Must have a three-(3) years National diploma and/or Degree in Labour Relations/ Human Resource Management qualification.
  • The candidate must have the ability to take direction, pay attention to details and work independently as well as in a team setting.
