Takealot: Digital Marketing Learnership 2026/2027

Takealot Marketplace invites interested and suitably qualified young individuals to apply for the Digital Marketing Learnership Programme offered in partnership with the Youth Employment Service and the Services Sector Education and Training Authority. This 12-month learnership provides practical workplace experience combined with structured training in digital marketing and e-commerce, with placements primarily based in townships and urban centres.
The programme is designed for unemployed youth under the age of 30 who have completed Matric and are eager to gain real-world experience supporting small businesses on the Takealot Marketplace platform. Participants will develop skills in online selling, content creation, product listings and customer service while receiving mentorship and exposure to the growing digital economy.

Programme Overview
The Digital Marketing Learnership offers an opportunity for unemployed youth to gain practical experience in digital marketing and e-commerce through structured training and workplace exposure. The programme focuses on developing skills in online selling, marketing strategies, product management and customer engagement within a real business environment.
Participants will be placed with small businesses (SMMEs) and supported through a structured learning journey that includes training, workplace experience, assessments and certification. The programme is designed to equip learners with industry-relevant digital skills while contributing to the growth of small businesses operating on the Takealot Marketplace platform.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements
- Must be unemployed
- Age under 30 years
- Less than 6 months work experience
- Matric (Grade 12) completed
- South African citizen with valid ID
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to communicate in English
- Reliable transport or willingness to relocate
- Reside within 40km of placement location
- No criminal record
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
