BOCMA: Internship Programme 2026/2028

The Breede-Olifants Catchment Management Agency invites interested and suitably qualified unemployed graduates to apply for the Internship Programme within the Water Resources Management Division, available across offices in George, Worcester and Bellville. The programme, implemented in collaboration with the Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority, aims to provide structured workplace experience to graduates in fields related to water resource management, environmental science, hydrology, geology and engineering.
The internship is offered for a fixed period of 24 months and provides a monthly stipend based on qualification level, with opportunities to gain practical exposure in water resource planning, environmental management and sector research activities. Suitable candidates must be unemployed South African graduates aged 35 years or younger, with relevant qualifications and a strong academic record, who have not previously participated in an internship programme.

The Breede-Olifants Catchment Management Agency, established in terms of the National Water Act, 1998, offers an Internship Programme aimed at unemployed graduates seeking workplace experience within the water sector. Stipend and Duration
- R7 500 per month for NQF Levels 07 – 08
- R10 000 per month for NQF Level 09
- Duration: 24 months fixed-term internship contract

Minimum Requirements
- Must be unemployed graduates
- Must be 35 years or younger
- Must have obtained a minimum average of 60% in final year academic results
- Must not have previously participated in an internship programme in public or private sector
- Must be a South African citizen
