O.R. Tambo District Municipality: Internship Programme 2026

The O.R. Tambo District Municipality invites applications from suitably qualified graduates residing within the municipal jurisdiction to apply for its 24-month Graduate Internship Programme. This opportunity is designed to provide workplace experience to unemployed graduates in various professional fields across multiple municipal departments.

Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R6,000 for the duration of the programme.

Minimum Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Updated CV
  • Certified copy of ID
  • Certified copies of qualifications
  • Proof of residence from ward councillor
  • Brief covering letter indicating the position applied for

Failure to upload required documents will result in automatic disqualification.

Important Selection Information

Shortlisted candidates may be required to:

  • Undergo qualification verification

  • Participate in competency-based assessments
  • Sign employment and performance agreements
  • Submit disclosure of financial interests

If applicants do not receive feedback within 90 days after the closing date, the application should be considered unsuccessful.

The municipality reserves the right not to proceed with appointments if suitable candidates are not identified.

Canvassing councillors or municipal officials will lead to disqualification.
