The Fort Cox Agriculture and Forestry Training Institute invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for Internship Programme for a period of 18 months.

Position: Graduate Intern: Social Work
Reference Number: GIS/01/2025
Stipend: as per DPSA provision
Period: 18 months

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma/Degree in Social Work.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Provide protection, support and assistance to students who are vulnerable, in need or are enduring crisis in the student life environment
  • Initiate and coordinate awareness programs and workshops that are related to social issues such as GBV, being tolerant to sexual orientation and oppressive social structure related to class
  • Provide services that promote social change, development, and the wellbeing of students and maintaining good relations with others
  • Provide support during times of distress such as rape, assault, muggings, domestic
    abuse and physical abuse
  • Keep a register and complete reports on students serviced

Position: Graduate Intern: Psychology/Student Counsellor
Reference Number: PC/02/2025
Stipend: As per DPSA provision
Period: 18 months

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma/Degree in Psychology.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Provide wellness and activity workshops on mental health challenges (depression, suicide, anxiety and substance abuse)
  • Provide personal and life skills support to first year transition and adjustment workshop, dealing with peer pressure and relations
  • Provide counselling services to individuals and groups and refer externally where required
  • Provide psychotherapy to help students
    overcome behavioural problems, emotional difficulties and stress related issues.

Closing Date: 06 January 2025

NB: Applicants must have not participated in any internship programme before.
