Bidvest Facilities Management is excited to invite unemployed youth from South Africa to apply for a 12-month Unitary Installer Learnership Programme (NQF L2) located in Olifantsfontein, Gauteng. This initiative is focused on professional growth, providing structured theoretical education, practical skills training, and supervised workplace experience in the HVAC and facilities management sectors. The program adheres to the QCTO Occupational Qualification 103269, covering crucial areas such as HVAC system installation, commissioning, tool usage, and fault identification. Participants will also gain essential knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, including working at heights, while developing the professional discipline necessary for technical service environments.

To be eligible, applicants must be between 18 and 34 years old and possess either an NQF Level 4, 5, or 6 qualification or a Grade 12 certificate with mandatory Mathematics and Physical Science. As the role involves physical labor in plant rooms and on rooftops, candidates must be medically fit and comfortable working at heights. ROLE PURPOSE

This learnership is designed to develop competent entry‑level professionals by providing structured theoretical instruction, practical skills development, and supervised workplace experience. The programme equips learners with the essential knowledge and capabilities required to pursue employment within Facilities Management, HVAC, and related technical service environments. It is a 12‑month Professional Learnership Programme aligned to the QCTO Occupational Qualification 103269.

MAIN OUTPUTS

  • HVAC principles and system fundamentals
  • Unitary HVAC system installation and commissioning
  • Occupational Health and Safety, including Working at Heights
  • Basic electrical and mechanical skills
  • Tool usage and fault identification
  • Workplace professionalism and compliance
  • Training includes classroom-based learning, practical training, and supervised workplace experience

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

The Applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • NQF Level 4, 5, or 6 qualification OR Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (compulsory)
  • Age between 18 and 34 years old
  • Good physical health suitable for site-based technical work
  • Medically fit, including Working at Heights
  • Must not be afraid of working at heights (training provided)
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Willingness to learn and work with tools and equipment
  • Physical ability to work in plant rooms, rooftops, and construction environments
  • Ability to follow safety rules and technical instructions


CERTIFICATION

All training and assessment are conducted in accordance with QCTO requirements. Only learners who successfully meet training, assessment, workplace, and medical fitness requirements will be eligible for certification.
