PHSDSBC: Intern Dispute Management

The Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council (PHSDSBC) invites South African unemployed youth to apply for Internship Programme 2024.

Introduction
1.1. The Public Health and Social Development Sectoral Bargaining Council (PHSDSBC) is designated in section 36 of the Labour Relations Act, 66 of 1995, to promote labour peace through constructive collective bargaining and expeditious resolution of disputes.
1.2. The PHSDSBC has a vacancy for an Intern: Dispute Management.

2.1. Note: The application must include a detailed Curriculum Vitae, Certified copies of the following:

Failure to submit certified copies will result in your application being disqualified.
2.2.1 Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation report issued by SAQA

Due to the large number of applications, we envisage receiving, applications will not be acknowledged. Should you not be contacted within three months of the closing date of the advertisement, please consider your application unsuccessful. The PHSDSBC reserves the right not to fill a position. Should any stage of the recruitment process, a moratorium be placed on the filling of posts or the PHSDSBC be affected by any process such as, but not limited to, restructuring or reorganization of positions, the PHSDSBC reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process and re-advertise the post at any time in the future.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to be available for assessments and interviews at a date and time as determined by the PHSDSBC. All shortlisted candidates will be subjected to Personnel Suitability evaluations.

2.5. The successful candidate will be subjected to undergo security vetting. PHSDSBC will conduct reference checks which may include the social media profiles of the shortlisted candidates. Applicants must declare any pending criminal, disciplinary investigations, or any other allegation against them. Should any of the aforementioned be uncovered during/after the interview process, the application will not be considered, and in the unlikely event that the person has been appointed, such an appointment will be terminated.

2.6. The successful candidate will be appointed subject to the positive results of the security clearance process. The successful candidate must enter into a two-year employment contract and sign a performance agreement with the PHSDSBC.

2.7. All applicants are required to declare any conflict or perceived conflict of interest and disclose memberships of boards and directorships that they may be associated with.

Requirements:

  • The applicant must be an unemployed South African youth.
  • Must have completed and passed grade 12 (Matric).
  • Must have passed and completed a National Diploma/Degree in Labour Relations or Labour Law at any recognized South African Institute of Higher Education and Training (HET) on the discipline.
  • NQF level 8 qualification will serve as advantageous. Hold a valid South African ID.
  • The applicant must not have been exposed to work experience in their area of study or have participated in an internship program before.

Critical performance areas: these will include, but not limited to, Dispute Management functions. The successful candidate must enter into an employment contract and sign a performance agreement with the PHSDSBC.
