MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
This internship role is for a 12 – 24 month period (fixed term contract) and will include a study component.

This developmental opportunity is structured to incorporate academic, professional, and personal skills
development, with a primary focus on business process analysis and improvement.

It enables the intern to integrate knowledge gained through their tertiary studies with the competencies made available through actual experience in a professional work setting.

As a graduate, you will be given exposure to the following key areas of operation:

  • Business process mapping, analysis, and improvement
  • Business requirements gathering and management
  • Data gathering, manipulation, analysis, modelling and reporting
  • Multi-disciplinary team collaboration
  • Documentation, presentation, communication and project coordination skills

In addition, you will be exposed to project management and business process efficiency management within a Business performance environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • A Tertiary qualification (Degree) in the field of Industrial Engineering (B.Eng or B.Sc.Eng) is essential.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
The intention of this internship role is to gain experience working within a business performance and Enterprise Project Office (EPO) environment, therefore no specific project experience will be required.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Provide support to an assigned Process Improvement Engineer or business process development manager with regards to:

  • Process mapping and improvement
  • Data gathering and analysis
  • Data visualisation and communication
  • Project coordination
  • Knowledge of Process management principles
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Sharepoint, Power BI
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in data management and analytics
  • Understanding of Project Management methodologies
  • Knowledge of and competence in quality improvement methodologies and aspects of cost management

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Provide project and process administrative support and ensure accurate recording thereof.
  • Execute work initiatives with outcomes and timelines to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Participate in team development and engagement to ensure best possible outcomes.
  • Deliver high quality activities on areas of involvement and engagement for the benefit of the business unit(s) to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Effectively communicate outcomes in all modalities to ensure optimal benefit is realised appropriately
  • Manage processes accordingly to ensure accurate financial record of any expenditure against budget.
