The University of the Free State is calling on unemployed individuals to seize the opportunity and apply for a 12-month Internship Programme.

Position: Intern (Contract appointment :1 year)

Duration: 12 months contract

Location: Bloemfontein Campus – Bloemfontein, Free State

Duties and responsibilities:
•    Assist with technical development and implementation of databases.
•    Assist to design and implement procedures for intake of data.
•    Assist to analyse, review and write applications and programs, based on customer needs and requirements.
•    Maintain confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
•    Manage timelines.
•    Inform the supervisor of risks to projects.
•    Code testing for sign-off.
•    Resolve and or escalate issues in a timely fashion.

Inherent requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree or an advanced diploma/BTech degree/postgraduate certificate on NQF Level 7 or higher in Information Technology.
•    Proven knowledge of the application of at least three of the following Development Languages (please indicate the exposure that you had with these Development Languages, clearly in your CV):
o    C# programming language
o    Microsoft SQL 2016 +
o    .Net Core with MVC
o    jQuery and JavaScript
o    Ability to work with a custom .Net Project Template
o    Bootstrap 4 and 5
o    Object Orientated Design and Methodology

Recommendations:
•    Honours degree on NQF Level 8 in Information Technology.

The following criteria apply to the selection of candidates:
•    The applicant should not currently be participating in an existing learnership/internship programme.
•    The applicant should not have any previous formal work experience.
•    The applicant must be willing to sign a learnership/internship agreement with UFS.
•    The applicant must be available for the period of 1 year to participate in the learnership/internship.
