Position: Experiential Learning – Analytical Chemistry Students X3 (P00)
Position Type: Fixed-Term Contract
Report To: Senior Chemist
Location: Centurion, Pretoria
The programme has developed many qualified employees with exceptional skills for the various stages of coin making, many of whom started their careers at the South African Mint.
Purpose:
To provide experiential learning opportunity for students that has completed all S4 modules and in need of experiential training to graduate for their National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry.
Qualifications:
- All S4 modules completed (NDip: Analytical Chemistry or related fields)
Key Responsibilities
- Process monitoring and data collection
- Perform Daily 5s inspections in all lab areas
- Assist with laboratory projects that are more focused on process optimization and assist with problem solving
- Carry out the lab tests independently and quality assurance
- Execute or support continuous improvement projects where necessary
- Assist with the daily duties of the laboratory Department
- Support establishment and adherence to material usage requirements
- Apply technical knowledge to support continuous improvement initiatives
