SASSA: Internship and Work Integrated Learning Programme 2026

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the Eastern Cape Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme. These opportunities are aimed at providing valuable workplace experience and practical training to graduates and N6 certificate holders who require exposure in a professional working environment. The programmes are based in East London, Eastern Cape.

The Internship Programme is available for applicants who hold a Degree, B-Tech or National Diploma (NQF Level 6 or 7) in fields such as Public Management, Public Administration, Social Sciences, Information Technology, Financial Accounting, Public Relations, Communication, Media Studies, and Multimedia Journalism. Successful candidates will be appointed on a 24-month contract and will receive a monthly stipend of R7 860.50.

The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme is intended for applicants with an N6 National Certificate in fields including Industrial Engineering, Management Services, Operations Management, Information Technology, Library Information Science, Financial Accounting, Human Resources Management, and Public Management. Successful candidates will be appointed for an 18-month programme and will receive a monthly stipend of R5 639.75. Applicants must be South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
