Position: Emerging Evaluators Programme Intern X3 Posts
Stipend: R6,900 per month
Duration: 4 Months
Location: Department of Social Development (DSD), Pretoria (In-person)

SAMEA and The Department of Social Development invites applications for three (3) internship opportunities under the Emerging Evaluators Programme.
These roles are ideal for passionate individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) within a dynamic development environment.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Statistics, Economics, or Demographics, Social Science, Public Administration, or other relevant fields.
- A postgraduate qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is highly advantageous.
- Experience with data collection tools and software such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, Kobo Toolbox, or Power BI.
- Must own a laptop (essential).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct data collection activities in the field, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain organised databases and document project activities and outcomes.
- Support the implementation of monitoring plans to track project progress against indicators.
- Review progress reports and contribute to the preparation of monitoring reports summarising findings.
- Assist in analysing quantitative and qualitative data to measure project outcomes.
- Prepare monthly M&E reports and contribute to the development of internal reports by providing data and analysis.
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong planning, organisational skills, and attention to detail. Personal Attributes:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated interest in development work and a commitment to learning.
