SALB: Internship Programme 2024

The South African Library for the Blind invites interested and suitably qualified candidates to apply for Internship Programme for a period of 12 months.

Position: Internship Programme

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Remuneration:
Annual CTC Salary is around R85 887 per annum.
No other monetary benefits, nor relocation or accommodation benefits are attached to this role.

Location: SALB Audio Production Section – Eastern Cape (Makhanda)

Minimum Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should have Grade 12 (Matric); and possess an N6 (or higher-level qualification) in administration and/or in an audio/sound engineering field.
  • Proficiency in Setswana/Sesotho language is a necessity, together with the ability to communicate effectively in English as a business language.
  • There will also be occasions requiring narration from the intern, therefore a voice test is required.
  • Relevant audio-related and/or sound engineering background, or practical exposure would be advantageous.

Main tasks:

  • The intern will be assigned to the SALB Audio Production Section, and their primary responsibilities will include verification checks of books.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is essential, and the intern will also be exposed to various functions, inclusive of administrative functions within the Audio Production Section.
  • There will also be occasions requiring narration from the intern.
