
Sabi Sabi Ranger Academy is seeking applications from eligible individuals interested in pursuing a career as field guides for a six-month training program.

INFORMATION
Sabi Sabi Ranger Academy invites applications from qualifying persons who are interested in a career as field guides to apply for a 6-month training course (followed by a 6-month practical placement) that will be fully funded by the Sabi Sabi Ranger Academy and stakeholders.
The study programme will consist of the following components:
- Bushwise Nature Site Guide Qualification (NQF2)
- Basic First Aid
- Reptile Orientation Course
- Hospitality Workshop
- Animal Tracks & Tracking and Trailing
- SASSETA Firearm Training
- Bushwise Advanced Rifle Handling
- 6-month Practical Placement

- General Rules
1.1 Only application forms completed correctly, in full and accompanied by the required supporting documents will be considered.
1.2 All documents and application form must be received on 1 document and NOT multiple documents.
- Required Documents – documents to be submitted together with this Application Form:
2.1 A copy of the highest educational qualification obtained.
2.2 A copy of the applicant’s Identity Document (ID).
2.3 A copy of valid Driver’s License.
- Selection Criteria:
The main criteria used in the selection of successful applicants to the Sabi Sabi Ranger Academy bursary are as follows:
3.1 Applicants must be at least 23 years of age.
3.2 A High School Certificate (National Senior Certificate) is a prerequisite. Exceptions will only be made in the case of persons with
an exceptional track record within the industry.
3.3 Applicants must have a valid Driver’s license with driving experience as well as PrDP.
3.4 Good communication skills in English are required.
3.5 Applicants must be of outgoing character – generally happy, self-motivated and charismatic.
3.6 Applicants must have a track record of being honest, trustworthy, responsible, reliable and punctual.
3.7 Applicants who had been previously employed must have a clean service record with previous employer.
3.8 Applicants must have no criminal record.
3.9 Successful candidates may be required to take a polygraph test prior to contracting to exclude persons from the programme who had ever been involved with poaching and potentially have criminal record

A panel consisting of staff from Bushwise Field Guides will consider candidates shortlisted and will communicate the final decision to all candidates who applied
