Provar, a leader in independent evaluation and horticultural research and development, is inviting a passionate and talented young Applied Scientist Intern to join our growing team.
Job Description
This internship offers an exceptional opportunity to join a 3-year research project developing innovative solutions for the agricultural industry while pursuing an M.Sc. degree. In this dual-role as an M.Sc. student and research technician, you’ll engage in impactful work and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced researchers on projects focused on pome, stone, table grapes, and alternative crops.
Your responsibilities will include data collection, analysis, and project execution, providing invaluable practical insights into the agricultural sector
- Technician KPAs
Data Management
Ability to accurately record, organise, and maintain research data in a clear and concise manne
Communication
Effectively communicate research findings and procedures, ensuring clear and concise documentation of protocols, data, and observations.
- M.Sc. Student KPAs
Project Planning & Execution
Conduct research and contribute to the completion of the assigned industry project under the guidance
of academic supervisor and project manager
Scientific/Report Writing
Write clear and detailed scientific reports and project documentation
Team Collaboration
Successfully collaborate with Provar’s R&D and evaluation team to support our clients
Quality Assurance
Adhering to rigorous protocols and documentation to ensure data accuracy and reliability
Data Analysis & Critical Thinking
Utilise data to make informed decisions and measure project outcomes
Application of Scientific Concepts
Demonstrate critical thinking skills and a strong understanding of foundational scientific concepts
Requirements
- B.Sc. Agric. degree in Horticultural Science with a minimum 60% average (qualification to register as M.Sc. Horticulture Science)
- Valid Driver’s License (Code B)
