Job Purpose
The Operator Support Multi Skilled is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the production plant while maintaining high housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
Daily activities include assisting Process Operators, conducting routine inspections, identifying and reporting equipment faults, maintaining production areas, and supporting maintenance teams during planned and emergency work.
The position plays an important role in ensuring continuous production while following all company procedures, environmental standards, and workplace safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to perform a variety of operational duties, including but not limited to:
- Assist Process Operators with production activities in the field.
- Carry out first-line inspections on production equipment.
- Report inspection findings to the Production Shift Supervisor.
- Identify abnormalities and report deviations immediately.
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout production areas.
- Perform routine equipment inspections according to company procedures.
- Record inspection results accurately.
- Report environmental and quality non-conformances.
- Help maintain fixed and mobile plant equipment in good operating condition.
- Support the achievement of production quality objectives.
- Clean, organize, and correctly store tools and equipment.
- Assist artisans during breakdowns whenever required.
- Follow all operational procedures, company policies, and safety standards.
- Help reduce waste through regular inspections and corrective actions.
- Complete additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
- Report directly to the Production Shift Supervisor.
- Operate mobile equipment when required and authorized.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Mathematics will be considered an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
Previous experience is not mandatory; however, preference may be given to candidates with experience in:
- Cement manufacturing
- Heavy industrial environments
- Production operations

- Industrial processing facilities
Experience working in physically demanding environments will also be advantageous.
