
The Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment and Technology at Nelson Mandela University is inviting students who are facing financial challenges or debt to apply for the 2025 Bursary Programme, providing them with an opportunity to graduate.
Students with Historic Debt: A Chance to Graduate
We are pleased to share an opportunity for Nelson Mandela University, Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment and Technology graduates and students.
Students who are previous graduates burdened with historic debt preventing you from graduation and certificate issuance, students who completed their studies who meet the graduation criteria but are unable to graduate due to debt, you can also apply.

Requirements:
- The student must be from the Eastern Cape (students from other provinces will not be considered).
- They must have completed the qualification in the prescribed areas, and a completion letter should be attached to the application form.
- The student must have outstanding historical debt.
- This applies to both current and past students.
Kindly refer to the attached bursary form to be completed by each student.
And in addition, the graduate must also submit the following documents with the application:
- Clear copy of ID need not be certified, unclear documents will be rejected
- Completion Letter/Certificate/Academic record indicating qualification obtained with the date it was obtained.
- Signed and fully completed merSETA Bursary Form – attached.
Closing Date for submission: 21st of February 2025.
Students from the Eastern Cape will be given priority.
