Purpose of the job
To provide workplace experience to students to complete their qualification and fulfilling the company’s responsibility in terms of the Skills Development Act. To develop and support a learner within the Chemical Engineering function by integrating academic knowledge with practical, hands-on experience in a real-world environment. This program aims to cultivate a capable chemical engineering professional who can contribute to process optimization, safety, and operational efficiency, while preparing the learner for future roles in the chemical industry.

- Chemical plant safety exposure
- Conduct lab analysis (where required)
- Conduct engineering calculations
- Plant operations and related modules

- Participate in engineering projects
- Attend plant HAZOPs
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail.
- Planning and organising skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Matric
- Completed S4 subjects in Chemical Engineering with 60% average and 65% on major subjects.
- Statement of results.
- Letter from University for workplace experience.
Experience
- No experience is required.
Personal Circumstances:
- Must be able to obtain a satisfactory medical report from the companies’ medical centre.
