NC Internship Programme 2026 (Multiple Fields Available)

The Northern Cape Department of Agriculture, Environmental Affairs, Rural Development and Land Reform invites unemployed graduates aged 18 to 35 residing in the Northern Cape Province to apply for the 24-month Internship Programme available across multiple directorates. The programme provides an opportunity to gain practical workplace experience aligned with relevant qualifications in fields such as engineering, environmental management, agricultural economics, veterinary services, management assistance, plumbing, welding, soil science, and disaster management.

Successful applicants will be placed at various locations including Kimberley (Frances Baard District), JTG District, Pixley Ka Seme District, Vaalharts, Eiland, and Rietrivier. Applications must be submitted using the new Z83 form together with an updated comprehensive CV before the closing date of 02 April 2026, as late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applications quoting the relevant reference number must be submitted on the new Z83 application form, obtainable from any Public Service Department or online at www.gov.za/documents. Applications received using the incorrect application form (old Z83) will not be considered. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. Each advertised post must be accompanied by its own completed, initialled and signed Z83 application form. Failure to fully complete, initial and sign the Z83 form will lead to disqualification during the selection process.

All fields of Section A, B, C and D of the Z83 must be completed in full. Sections E, F and G may indicate “refer to CV” due to limited space, however the question related to conditions that prevent re-appointment under Part F must be answered and the declaration signed.

Only an updated comprehensive CV (with detailed previous experience if any) and a completed and signed new Z83 application form are required. Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of qualifications and other related documents on or before the day of the interview following communication from Human Resources.

Non-RSA Citizens / Permanent Resident Permit holders with foreign qualifications must provide a SAQA evaluation report (only when shortlisted). The Department does not accept applications via fax. Applications received late or not complying with the requirements will not be considered. Failure to submit requested documents will result in the application not being considered.

Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If no response is received within three (3) weeks after the closing date, consider the application unsuccessful.

All shortlisted candidates, including SMS, will undertake two pre-entry assessments: a practical exercise based on technical and generic requirements of the post, and an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. Suitable candidates will be subjected to personnel suitability checks including criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, qualification verification and employment verification.
