KZNEDTEA: Internship Programme 2025/2027

The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs invites suitably qualified and unemployed graduates to apply for the 2025–2027 Internship Programme. The initiative forms part of the Department’s contribution to national skills development objectives outlined in the NSDS III, NGP, PGDS, and NDP Vision 2030. The programme provides valuable workplace training and practical exposure to enhance participants’ employability. Successful candidates will be placed on a structured 24-month internship and receive a monthly stipend or allowance during the period.

Applications are invited from graduates holding a three-year Degree or National Diploma or higher qualification in a relevant field from a recognised university or university of technology. The available internship opportunity falls under the Communications and Marketing Unit (Ref No: COM&MAR-25.27) and requires a qualification in Graphic Designing or Visual Communication. The placement will be at the Department’s Head Office.

Application Requirements:

Eligibility: Open to unemployed graduates with a relevant 3-year Degree or National Diploma from a recognized University or University of Technology.

Application Form: Complete the new Z83 form (effective from 1 January 2021), obtainable from any Public Service Department or www.dpsa.gov.za-vacancies. The form must be fully completed, signed, dated, and accompanied by:

  • An updated, detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with employment dates in DD/MM/YYYY format.
  • A signed affidavit confirming you have not previously benefited from any Government Department or Municipality Internship Programme.
  • Certified copies of qualifications (to be submitted by shortlisted candidates on or before the interview).
  • For foreign qualifications, an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) is required.
