
Fruit South Africa is excited to invite young individuals aged 18 to 30 who are currently unemployed to apply for a 12-month Internship Programme.
Position: Intern Required (2025/26, Pretoria)
Reporting to: Industry Affairs Manager
Duration of internship: 12 months
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Start date of internship: 01 April 2025
Remuneration: Market-related stipend
Closing date: 07 March 2025
Fruit SA requires a professional, younger than 30, organised, self-motivated, and results-driven intern. The individual must be able to deal with complexity, eager to learn, enthusiastic, and curious.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must hold a BAgric or BSc degree in agricultural economics or any field of study related to the fruit industry value chain.
Responsibilities:
- Providing general support to the Industry Affairs Manager and the CEO and standing in for the Executive
Office Administrator when required. - Conducting research on the latest industry trends and providing relevant analyses.
- Compiling and/or updating the industry statistics booklet that contains current industry information for all relevant stakeholders.
- Representing the organisation at industry events and drafting reports that detail those events.
- Communication with stakeholders and management of the Citrus Industry Trust-related matters.
Requirements:
- Computer literacy
- A good understanding of:
o the agriculture and fruit industry value chains, and supply chains
o international and local markets
o the agriculture industry of South Africa - The ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and public speaking skills
- Good time management skills
- Good organisational and planning skills
- A problem solver
- Numerical aptitude
- Report writing skills
- Able to work under pressure
