Minimum Requirements

  • Civil Engineering – students who will be in their 2nd or 4th year of study towards BEng/BSc Civil in 2026.
  • Industrial Engineering – students who will be in their 2nd or 4th year of study towards BEng/BSc Industrial in 2026.
  • Electrical Engineering – students who will be in their 2nd year of study towards BEng/BSc Electrical in 2026.
  • Mechanical Engineering – students who will be in their 2nd year of study towards BEng Mechanical in 2026.
  • Metallurgical Engineering – students who will be in their 2nd or 4th year of study towards BEng/BSc Metallurgical/Chemical in 2026.
  • Geology – students who will be in their 2nd or 3rd year of study towards BSc Geology in 2026.
  • Mining Engineering – students who will be in their 2nd year of study towards BEng/BSc Mining Engineering in 2026.
  • Mine Surveying – students who will be in their 3rd or Honours year of study towards BEng/BSc Mine Surveying in 2026.
  • Data Science – students who will be in their 3rd year of study towards BTech degree Data Sciences/B DatSci/BComp specialising in Data Sciences

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain academic performance: Achieve and sustain the required minimum academic average as outlined in the bursary agreement.
  • Attend classes and complete coursework: Commit fully to your studies and complete all assignments, projects, and examinations.
  • Submit progress reports: Provide academic transcripts or progress updates each semester/term to the bursary office.
  • Participate in bursary-related programs: Take part in mentoring, workshops, or community outreach initiatives (if applicable).
  • Uphold good conduct: Represent the bursary provider positively and adhere to the institution’s code of conduct.
  • Commit to work-back requirements (if applicable): Fulfil any service obligations or internships with the sponsoring organization after graduation.
  • Communicate changes: Inform the bursary provider promptly of any changes in study programme, institution, or personal circumstances.
