eThekwini Municipality is offering excellent bursary opportunities to South African citizens interested in a rewarding career, in:

  1. Electrical Engineering
  2. Mechanical Engineering
  3. Civil Engineering
  4. Chemical Engineering
  5. Electronic Engineering
  6. Architecture
  7. Quantity Surveying
  8. Property Valuer

Preference will be given to applicants who have passed at least their first year of studies at a recognized institution, and applicants must include their full academic record. Applications from students who are only due to start their studies in 2025 must include proof of their acceptance from a South African public university and matric results.

The benefits of the bursary include accommodation fees, tuition fees, examination fees, a book allowance and a once-off computer allowance in the second year of study (subject to compliance with Municipal Bursary agreement).

Eligibility Requirements Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  1. South African citizen.
  2. Completed Matric OR currently in Matric.
  3. Strong academic record.
  4. Studying or plan to study full-time towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the above-mentioned fields of study.
  5. Studying or planning to study at a recognized South African tertiary institution.
  6. Acceptance to study for the above qualifications

Applicants will be required to undergo an assessment as part of the process for consideration.

Priority will be given to applicants who are underrepresented in terms of race, gender and disability within the occupational level of the respective advertised posts.
