EPWP Internship Opportunity at Shipwreck Museum

Shipwreck/Skeepswrak Museum invites suitably qualified and motivated young individuals to apply for the EPWP Internship Programme for the 2025–2026 period. The internship is offered within the Library Service – General Stacks and will be based at the Shipwreck/Skeepswrak Museum and the Stellenbosch Museum under the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS). The contract runs from the date of assumption of duty until 31 March 2026 and offers a daily stipend ranging from R162.00 to R243.00. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and hold a Grade 12 certificate.
The successful candidates will support daily library operations through general administration, filing and shelf reading, event support, asset verification, and assistance with supply chain and human resources tasks. Additional responsibilities include scanning and capturing library materials on the SLIMS system, maintaining library resources and equipment, providing information and training support to affiliated libraries, and performing ad hoc duties as required.
