Duties and Responsibilities

The appointed Driver: General Administration will perform a range of transport and support duties at the Gene Louw Traffic College.

One of the main responsibilities will be to provide a transport service for staff and students at the Gene Louw Traffic College. This requires the driver to operate official vehicles safely and responsibly while transporting authorised passengers.

The successful candidate will also provide a messenger service within the Directorate. This may involve delivering and collecting documents, correspondence and other items between relevant offices or locations.

Another responsibility will be to render support to the Transport Officer with the maintenance and cleaning of official vehicles within the Directorate. The driver will therefore assist with ensuring that official vehicles are maintained in a clean and suitable condition.

The position also includes performing ad hoc tasks as required. Applicants should therefore be willing to assist with additional operational duties that fall within the scope of the position.
