Department of Health TVET WIL & Graduate Internship Programme

The Northern Cape Department of Health invites unemployed youth to apply for the TVET Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and University Graduate Internship Programme. This opportunity is designed to provide practical workplace experience in fields aligned with completed studies, supporting skills development and professional growth within the public health sector. The programme is open to qualified candidates residing in the Northern Cape who are between the ages of 18 and 35.
Successful candidates will participate in structured workplace training for a period of 18 months for TVET WIL or 12 months for the Graduate Internship Programme and will receive a monthly stipend in line with the HWSETA interns remuneration schedule, based on qualification level. Applications must be submitted to the relevant district offices of the Northern Cape Department of Health, with the closing date set for 27 February 2026.

The Northern Cape Department of Health hereby presents an opportunity to unemployed youth to gain workplace experience in the field of work that they have studied by offering TVET WIL (18 months) and University Graduate Internship Programme (12 months) for the following areas/fields:
Qualification: Certificate
- Certificate in Human Resources (N6)
- Certificate in Public Management (N6)
- Certificate in Financial Management (N6)
Qualification: Diploma or Degree NQF
- Dip/Degree in Human Resource Management
- Dip/Degree in Public Management
- Dip/Degree in Financial/ Accounting/ Business Management
- Dip/Degree in Human Resource Development or Development Studies
- BSc in Information Technology
- Dip/Degree in Labour or Legal Law
- Any other health related qualification

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be:
- unemployed South African citizens and residents of the Northern Cape,
- between the ages of 18 to 35 and
- in possession of one of the qualifications mentioned above.
Applicants who have not yet received their qualifications must provide academic transcripts and letters confirming that they have completed their studies.
FUNDING
- HWSETA will be funding this programme for the Department;
- All candidates will be required to sign learner agreements and related documents.
HOW TO APPLY:
An applicant must complete the attached Work-Based Learning Agreement (WBLA) and accompanied by the following:
- An updated CV
- Certified copies of all qualifications
- ID Copy (must not be over 3-months old)
- Affidavit confirming the learner is currently unemployed
- In-service letter from college
