Minimum Requirements

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Housekeepers play an important role in ensuring that learners receive proper care while staying in school hostels. Duties include:
- Ensuring the safety and well being of all learners.
- Supporting and mentoring learners.
- Implementing hostel rules and maintaining discipline.
- Promoting positive behaviour among learners.
- Accompanying learners when medical attention is required.
- Cleaning and maintaining hostel facilities.
- Helping learners prepare for school each morning.
- Assisting with serving meals in the dining hall.
- Feeding learners who are unable to feed themselves.
- Administering medication according to medical prescriptions.
- Assisting younger learners with bathing.
- Helping learners who cannot care for themselves.
- Assisting learners with schoolwork when necessary.
- Changing nappies for learners who require assistance.
- Acting in loco parentis by providing proper care and supervision.
