Your Challenge:
- Responsible to support the breeding team in their activities that can range from seed preparation, planting, crop maintenance, data collection and harvesting
- Works as part of a team to plan and execute experiments efficiently and accurately within seasonal deadlines
- Interact within all programs at the station to learn from the different divisions for your development
- Participate in safety specific to direct work environment to identify and communicate potential risks and benefits
- Give regular feedback to track development

- Ability to supervise

As EHS Intern, who will be based in Rosslyn, you will be responsible for assisting the EHS&S Coordinator with planning, implementing, and overseeing company’s employee safety at work. Their main duty is to ensure that the site’s compliance with regulatory requirements, the Industrial Emissions license, and industry best practices in environmental management system and environmental compliance activities. Hence, the main goal will be to ensure safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents on job and off job.
You Will Be Part of Growing Team
Rosslyn SPSC plant supplies Seed to customers in the AME region and the focus point is Safety and Quality. As EHS Intern at Rosslyn Plant, Field & Warehouses, you will play important role in EHS&S Safety requirements and standards of Corteva’s customers.
Your Challenge:
- Providing internal environmental guidance and recommendations
- Conduct site visits, collecting data to establish a baseline condition for levels of pollution or contamination for a site or areas of consideration.
- Ensure company complies to relevant environmental legislation.
- Review and update existing safety, standards and procedures relating to environmental health.
- Assist that all necessary Standard Operating procedures (SOPs)/work instructions are in place.
- Assist with new employee on-boarding process for safety.
- Assist in management of environmental emergency incidents.
- Assist with Industrial Hygiene implementation (risk assessments, Ideagen).
- Assist with the implementation of company’s core values, rules, and regulations.
- Assist with relevant safety training to employees and contractors.
- Advise and assist employees on various environmental-related topics.
- Check and verify that all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations.
- Identify safety bottlenecks and offer timely solutions.
- Assist in management of uncontained spillages.
- Perform other safety duties and responsibilities as ordered by line manager.

- SAMTRAC-NOSA course (advantageous)

- Valid Driver’s license
- At least 3-5 years of work experience in an occupational health and safety role.
- Detailed experience and knowledge of the relevant Acts is beneficial.
