Columbus Stainless invites suitably qualified South African candidates to apply for apprenticeship opportunities across various technical trades. This structured training programme, running for up to four years, offers practical workplace exposure and skills development in areas such as engineering, maintenance, and electrical disciplines, creating a strong foundation for a long-term career in plant maintenance.

Applicants should hold a minimum of an N3 or Matric with Mathematics and Science, or an NCV Level 4 qualification including these subjects, and demonstrate a practical, logical approach with an interest in equipment maintenance. Candidates must be medically fit, willing to work shifts and overtime when required, and preference will be given to residents of the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality. Applications must be submitted before the closing date of 25 December 2025.
Apprenticeships
Applicants are invited to be trained for a period up to 4 years in one of the following trades:
- Millwrights
- Boilermakers
- Fitting & Turning
- Fitters
- Diesel Mechanics
- Instrumentation
- Electricians
You do not necessarily need extensive experience, but we do require the following:
- A minimum of an N3/Matric with Mathematics and Science (with a minimum of 40% for each)
OR - 7 subjects (including Mathematics and Science) at NCV Level 4 (with a minimum of 40% for each)
- Practical and logical, with an interest in equipment maintenance
- Medically fit
- South African citizenship
- A willingness to work shifts and overtime, as required
- Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality
