Collins Chabane Municipality: Bursary Opportunities for 2026

Collins Chabane Municipality invites applications for the 2026 Bursary Programme from students originating from disadvantaged families who qualify as indigent households. The bursary is intended for matriculants who wish to pursue studies at accredited tertiary institutions within the Republic of South Africa. Financial support provided through this programme will cover registration fees only and aims to promote access to higher education in critical skills fields.
The bursary targets students enrolling in priority areas of study, including Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Town Planning, Information Technology, Commerce-related fields such as Financial Management, Internal Audit, Risk Management and Economics, as well as Law. Applicants must demonstrate academic potential and meet all eligibility requirements as outlined in the application guidelines.
Completed application forms must be supported by certified copies of required documentation, including identification, proof of income, matric results, proof of registration, proof of residence, and a motivation letter. Applications must be hand delivered to Collins Chabane Municipality before the closing date of 14 January 2026 at 16h30, as late, faxed, emailed, or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
INVITATION FOR BURSARY APPLICATION 2026
Applicants are hereby invited from disadvantaged families who qualify as INDIGENT HOUSEHOLDS and who intend to pursue different fields of study at tertiary institutions throughout the Republic of South Africa.
The bursary will only cover the registration fees. Applicants are invited from matriculants, and the targeted fields of study are as follows:

Required Supporting Documents
Completed application forms must be accompanied by the following documents:
i) Certified copy of ID / Birth certificates of both applicant and parents
ii) Certified proof of income of both parents
iii) Certified copy of matric results
iv) Proof of registration at a tertiary institution
v) Proof of residence within Councillors / Traditional leaders (Indunas)
vi) Motivation letter

Closing Date
The closing date for submission of the application is: 14 January 2026 at 16H30
No late applications will be accepted. Applicants who do not hear from the municipality within 30 days after the closing date should consider their applications unsuccessful.
