NACCW in partnership with Childline South Africa has an internship posts available. This is for the development of CYCWS in various settings to provide workplace experience for 1 year period (12 months)
Childline South Africa believe that the experience provided within the organization will be invaluable in your progression in the field of child and youth care work.
Criteria for CYCWs to be included in the program:
- Must be in the youth category i.e. not older than 35 years old.
- Qualified CYCW’s (minimum level)
- Must be registered with SACSSP
- Currently unemployed
- Must not have benefitted from previously HWSETA funded program/learnership.
- Must be Computer literate
- Able to speak and understand the language used in the area.
- Having a driver’s license is an added advantage.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify psycho-social problems of children through counseling and applying appropriate intervention methods to preempt such.
- To act as a first responder to victims of Gender based Violence.
- To offer containment services to abused children and adults.
- Conduct dialogues and raise awareness on GBV matters.
- Work closely in the community and identify GBV cases.
- To compile monthly reports of all activities facilitated.
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly reports as needed.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity in the data reported and presented.
- Provide weekly plans as well as weekly and monthly timesheets and reports timeously.
