The internship position available includes the following specifics:
- Position: Hospitality Internship
- Centre: Polokwane Campus
- Duration: 24 Months
A stipend is provided to support interns during their tenure, with the amount varying based on the level of qualification:
- Level 4 (Hospitality Certificate): R3,000.00 per month
- National Diploma (Hospitality Studies): R5,000.00 per month
This financial support is intended to assist with living expenses and encourage full participation in the programme, allowing interns to focus on gaining practical skills and experience without financial strain.
Requirements
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a former Capricorn TVET College student, ensuring a foundation of institutional knowledge and training.
- Possession of a Hospitality Studies Certificate Level 4 or a National Diploma, demonstrating a solid educational background in the field.
- Computer literacy, a critical skill for modern workplace efficiency and record-keeping.
- Strong customer service orientation, reflecting the ability to engage positively with clients and colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist in hosting campus and college events, providing opportunities to manage large-scale food service operations and enhance organizational skills.
- Maintain hygiene standards in the cafeteria, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations to create a safe dining environment.
- Manage stock control, including procurement, to ensure adequate supplies and efficient resource use.
- Operate the cash register and perform reconciliations, building financial literacy and accountability in daily transactions.
