About the Road Traffic Infringement Authority (RTIA)
The Road Traffic Infringement Authority (RTIA) is a public entity responsible for administering and supporting the implementation of the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) Act in South Africa.
The Authority works to promote responsible road user behaviour by ensuring that traffic infringements are managed fairly and efficiently while improving road safety across the country.
The Call Centre plays a critical role by assisting motorists, issuing authorities, and members of the public with information relating to AARTO procedures, applications, traffic infringement processes, and administrative enquiries.
Minimum Educational Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Matric Certificate (NQF Level 4)
Minimum Experience Required
Suitable candidates should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

Experience within a public service environment will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to provide professional call centre services relating to AARTO matters.
The duties include:
Agency Matters
- Receive telephone calls from members of the public.
- Respond to customer email enquiries.
- Handle fax enquiries.
- Escalate matters to the relevant sections within the Agency.
- Advise callers regarding the status of representation applications.
- Inform callers about instalment applications.
- Provide updates regarding revocation of enforcement order applications.
- Explain AARTO procedures to callers.
- Guide applicants on documents required for different applications.
- Provide accurate information relating to AARTO services.
- Ensure customer enquiries are handled professionally.
- Maintain quality customer service standards.
Issuing Authority Matters
Successful candidates will also be responsible for:
- Assisting callers regarding election to be tried in court submissions.
- Providing updates on driver nomination requests.
- Assisting with enquiries relating to issuing authorities.
- Providing information regarding special AARTO arrangements.
- Printing incoming faxes received through the AARTO fax-to-email facility.
- Acknowledging instalment applications.
- Recording representations on the NCR as prescribed.
- Processing revocation of enforcement order applications.
- Distributing applications to the relevant RTIA sections.
- Ensuring documents reach the correct departments.
- Maintaining accurate administrative records.
