Position: Fintech Intern
Location: Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures the maintenance of the platforms that allow for financial forecasting, reporting and
operational tracking metrics.
• Analyze financial data and create financial models for the board of directors in order to aid in decision support.
• Analyse past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendations for
improvements.
• Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
• Create recommendations to be presented to senior management and executives.
• Recommend actions by analysing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, study proposed changes in methods and materials.
• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools and dashboards.
• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.
• Reconcile existing transactions through cross-referencing of incoming and outgoing data.
• Conduct comparable analysis and market research to support internal financial analysis.
• Maintain up to date technical knowledge of financial instruments, market conditions and trends.
• Business cases for the adoption of relevant financial technologies.
• Solution architecture designs for ongoing financial services projects.
• Product and solution delivery as per roadmap.
• Compile a roadmap for the adoption of future technologies.
• Active support to the Senior Manager of the Finance department (CFO).
• Understanding of the Group technology, business and regulatory context.
• Timely decision making and reporting
Qualifications & Experience:
• Matric
• BCom Honours in IT or Finance, or BSc in Computer Engineer or Data Science.
• 0-3 years of business, finance, or other relevant experience.
Skills and Competencies:
• Basic understanding of ERPs or have worked with an ERP system is advantageous.
• Attention to detail an accuracy is of high performance.
• Basic sequential coding/programming skills.
• RPA in Python is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
