The company’s operations are based in various areas, with the corporate head office based in Sandton and the Divisional Head Offices based in Isando.
Applicants are advised that they will need to rotate between Isando and Sandton per their respective rotation plans.
In addition, the company has various sites around the country and applicants may need to visit sites when performing their allocated areas of responsibility.

Barloworld invests in growing talent. The Barloworld TOPP Training Programme is one of the Young talent programmes that is aimed at growing critical skills (accountants) and a potential pool of leaders for the future.
This 3-year programme is accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and is aligned with SAICA-CA2025 training program. The purpose of this programme is to provide candidates with the relevant experience and competencies needed to qualify as a CA (SA) at the end of their 3-year training programme.
Key Responsibilities:
Barloworld is accredited to offer Management Decision-Making as an elective. Trainees will be required to complete the following tasks/skills/values per SAICA’s Competency Framework:
- Accounting and External Reporting
- Professional Conduct, Management & Leadership, Personal Attributes and Information Technology.
- Management Decision Making
- Risk Management & Governance
- Financial Management
- Taxation.
- Auditing & Assurance.
Minimum Required Experience:
No previous permanent work experience required
Minimum Required Qualification:
Certificate in Theory of Accounting (CTA) or Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) – UNISA students CTA Level 2 (Prospective applicants must be eligible to write the SAICA ITC 2025 January board sitting)

Barloworld CA Training Programme – Frequently Asked Questions
The Barloworld CA Training Programme is governed by the SAICA training regulations, which requires practical experience to obtain the prescribed technical and professional competence to qualify as a CA(SA).
During the trainees’ three years on the Barloworld CA Training Programme, the trainees will be rotated within the business units in the group to obtain the necessary exposure to achieve the prescribed SAICA competencies.
The Barloworld CA trainee programme sets out to select and recruit aspiring CA’s who:
- have the potential to be a leader;
- have a commitment to continuous learning and development
- are able to multi-task, work in teams, and pay attention to detail
The programme is designed to:
- Help candidates shape a career path in multiple sectors across the group’s business units.

Who can apply?
Students who are in their final year of their CTA/PGDA with the intention of writing the SAICA ITC board exam in January of the following year. Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Johannesburg. Individuals already serving articles are not eligible to apply.
