Apprenticeship Opportunities for 2026 – City of Tshwane

The City of Tshwane invites suitable candidates to apply for various apprenticeship opportunities for the 2026 intake. This apprenticeship scheme provides structured training and work-integrated learning aimed at preparing participants to succeed in a highly competitive and demanding job market. The programme is offered through the City of Tshwane Learning and Development Division, an accredited training provider committed to developing skilled artisans.
The apprenticeships are available in Electrical, Welding, Vehicle Mechanics, Boilermaking, Plumbing, and Fitting and Turning. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend while gaining practical experience and technical training. Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals and women, and reasonable accommodation will be provided to qualifying applicants with disabilities in line with institutional requirements.

What you need
Applicants must have at least a technical matric, NCV Level 4, or an N2 certificate with Mathematics, Science, and relevant trade theory. Candidates must have a strong interest in becoming an artisan and demonstrate commitment, dedication, and enthusiasm.
Reasonable accommodation, in line with the institutional threshold for persons with disabilities and the inherent and physical requirements of the specific apprenticeship, will be provided to qualifying applicants with disabilities.
Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals and women.
Applicants who have already obtained a trade certificate in any of the above-mentioned trades will not be considered.
NB: Applicants who submit fraudulent information and/or documents will be disqualified.
