The Free State Department of Human Settlements invites applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates for the Graduate Internship Programme. The programme provides unemployed graduates residing in the Free State with an opportunity to gain practical work experience through a 24-month internship contract.

The closing date for applications is 21 August 2026 at 16:00.

Applications:

Applications must be addressed to the Head: Human Resource Management Directorate, Human Settlements, P.O. Box 247, Bloemfontein, 9300.

Physical applications must be hand-delivered to the relevant office. In Bloemfontein, applications must be submitted at the foyer of OR Tambo House, St. Andrews Street, Bloemfontein. For QwaQwa, applications must be submitted at the Human Settlements Offices, Mampoi Street, Phuthaditjhaba, QwaQwa. In Sasolburg, applications must be submitted at Mora Investments House, Erf 15, Fichard Street, Sasolburg. In Welkom, applications must be submitted at the Human Settlements Offices, Kopano Complex, 312 Long Road, Welkom.

Applications must be placed in the appropriately marked box at the security desk of the respective buildings. No applications will be accepted directly by staff in the offices. Candidates may also submit their applications via email to [email protected]. When applying by email, applicants must indicate the post name and reference number in the subject line. Candidates who applied for the previous advertisement that was withdrawn are encouraged to apply again.

Important Notes:

All applications must be submitted on the new Z83 Application Form, which can be downloaded from the DPSA website or obtained from any Public Service Department. Applications must be accompanied by a recent comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) only, including contactable referees with their telephone numbers and email addresses.

Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of their qualifications and other relevant documents on or before the interview date after being contacted by the Human Resource Management Directorate.

Each Z83 application form must be fully completed, signed, and initialled by the applicant. The application must clearly indicate the correct job title, the centre where the post is advertised, and the reference number as stated in the advertisement. Failure to complete, sign, or initial the application form will result in disqualification. Applications submitted using the old Z83 form will not be considered.

Applicants with foreign qualifications must submit an evaluation certificate issued by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Applications that do not comply with the requirements of the advertisement will not be considered.

Suitable candidates will be subjected to personnel suitability checks, including criminal record checks, financial checks, qualification verification, reference checks, and employment verification.

Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If applicants do not receive any communication within four (4) months after the closing date, they should regard their application as unsuccessful. The Department reserves the right not to fill the advertised posts. Late applications, faxed applications, or applications that do not include all the required documents will not be considered.

Successful candidates will be required to sign a 24-month employment contract and a performance agreement within three months of appointment. They will also be required to undergo a security clearance within three months after appointment.

Applicants must be South African citizens originating and residing in the Free State Province, must be unemployed, and must not have previously participated in a Public Service Internship Programme.
