The internship programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional work by offering participants the opportunity to develop practical skills in a real working environment. Successful applicants will be placed at Soweto Theatre in Jabulani for a period of up to 24 months and will receive a monthly stipend of R6,094.

About the Joburg City Theatres Internship Programme
The Joburg City Theatres Internship Programme aims to provide meaningful workplace learning opportunities for graduates and students who require practical experience to complete their qualifications or strengthen their employability.
The programme is available to qualifying youth residing within Johannesburg communities. Preference is given to applicants who have never participated in an internship programme before, unless the previous internship was unrelated to their field of study.
Interns will receive structured workplace exposure, guidance from experienced professionals, and opportunities to build valuable skills while supporting the daily operations of Joburg City Theatres.
Internship Duration
- The internship programme will run for a period not exceeding 24 months.
Monthly Stipend
- Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of: R6,094 per month

Purpose of the Internship
The Building and Security Internship provides practical experience within the Building and Facilities Department.
Interns will assist with maintenance operations, building inspections, safety compliance, contractor coordination, repairs, and facilities management activities while gaining valuable workplace experience in a theatre environment.
