South African National Parks Internship Programme Opportunities 2026 (Groenkloof National Park).
South African National Parks invites applications from unemployed graduates for the Internship Programme based at Groenkloof National Park. The programme provides workplace exposure for a period of 24 months with a monthly stipend of R6 335.69.
SANParks manages over 3 751 113 hectares of protected land across 20 national parks under the mandate of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (Act 57 of 2003). The internship programme supports skills development aligned with conservation, administration, communications, tourism, ICT, finance, and socio-economic transformation functions.
SANParks is not obligated to offer permanent employment after completion of the internship programme.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be unemployed graduates aged 18–35
- Be South African citizens
- Hold a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) from a South African Higher Education Institution
- Not have previously participated in an internship or placement programme
- Not have prior formal employment experience

Key Programme Conditions
Applicants applying outside their area of residence must arrange their own accommodation and transport for the duration of the internship.
Appointments remain subject to verification processes and pre-screening checks. Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) prior to consideration.
Preference will be given to Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDI) / Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA) in line with employment equity principles.
