The National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) is inviting applications for eight (8) Internship positions for the National Dialogue programme on a 12-month contract. These internships offer an all-inclusive package of R120 000 and provide valuable exposure to administrative, research, and coordination functions within a national policy and development environment.
Successful candidates will gain practical workplace experience while supporting various units with administrative duties, reporting, data management, and coordination activities.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will be exposed to a range of entry-level administrative and support functions, including:
- Performing general functional tasks for the assigned unit.
- Handling correspondence and enquiries related to the unit and maintaining records and filing systems.
- Providing administrative support during the coordination of unit budgeting processes.
- Assisting with information gathering for audit preparation.
- Supporting data collection and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
- Carrying out duties as delegated by supervisors and managers.
- Preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes during meetings.
- Assisting with preparing at least one presentation per quarter or when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Applicants must have a National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Honours Degree in one of the following fields:
- Public Administration
- Journalism and Media Studies
- Project Management
- Public Relations
- Business Management
Candidates should also have:
- Basic knowledge of relevant regulatory laws, frameworks, policies, and guidelines such as the Skills Development Act, PFMA, tax laws, BBBEE, Employment Equity, and Affirmative Action.
- Theoretical knowledge related to the functional area or department where the internship placement occurs.
Entry Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen under the age of 35 with a valid South African ID.
- Have a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognised higher learning institution.
