Role Summary
The Pharmacist Assistant Learner provides medication-related and supplementary services to patients and healthcare professionals under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The role focuses on meeting patient needs responsibly, effectively, and in a cost-efficient manner while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Stock Control
- Participate in cyclical and full stock-taking processes, including procurement and ethical stock control.
- Process stock for internal departments and inter-clinic sales.
- Assist in managing stock according to Netcare Stock Management policies, especially within designated stock areas.
General Duties
- Ensure personal compliance with regulations set by the South African Pharmacy Council.
- Follow up promptly on outstanding medication owed to patients.
- Perform administrative and housekeeping tasks related to pharmacy operations.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or supervising Pharmacist.
Best and Safest Patient Care
Medication Dispensing Support
- Assist the pharmacist with all dispensing activities.
- Pick and package medication under pharmacist supervision.
- Capture all dispensed items to patient accounts according to medical aid TTO requirements.
- Capture patient profiles and prescriptions on the Unisolve system.
- Support monthly chronic medication recall processes.
