Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited invites graduates, diplomates, and students requiring experiential learning to apply for Internship and P1/P2 Work Integrated Learning opportunities for 2026. These programmes are designed to provide practical workplace exposure to individuals who need internship or experiential training to complete their qualifications. Opportunities are available across various operations and disciplines, offering valuable industry experience and the potential for future employment or career advancement.

Applications are open to eligible South African citizens under the age of 35 who reside in designated local communities where operations are based. Suitable candidates must submit certified copies of identification, qualifications, academic records, a curriculum vitae, and proof of residence. All required documents must be submitted before the closing date, and only complete applications will be considered.

Application Criteria and Conditions

  • Opportunities are open to South African citizens ONLY, below the age of 35 and reside in the following districts:
    1. Free State: Lejweleputswa/Matjhabeng/Masilonyana.
    2. North-West: City of Matlosana/ Ratlou/ Moqhaka.
    3. Gauteng: City of Johannesburg/Merafong City/West Rand.
  • Only Graduates and Diplomats with a full tertiary qualification obtained from an accredited South African University and/or Colleges will be allowed to apply for the programme.
  • Students applying for Internships must have completed their qualification in the field of which they apply for and have NOT benefited from a similar programme previously.
  • Should an applicant be successful, the applicant will be expected to complete a full medical examination and security screening.
  • Students applying for P1/P2 Experiential must provide a recent letter from the institution indicating the need for P1/P2 exposure.
  • Duration of the programme (Core – Mining, Met, ORM and Engineering 24 months, Non-Core 12 months).

NB: Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.

Requirements

This development opportunity aims to give suitably qualified candidates sufficient experience to become competent and provides the opportunity of possible employment or promotion on completion of the programme.
