Ehlanzeni District Municipality: Risk Management Intern Vacancy

Ehlanzeni District Municipality invites unemployed graduates to apply for a Risk Management Intern position within the Office of the Municipal Manager. The internship is aimed at providing workplace experience to increase employability and is open to previously disadvantaged individuals and persons with disabilities. The programme offers a two-year contract with a remuneration package of R120 000 per annum, and successful candidates will gain exposure to risk management processes, policy development, compliance requirements, and fraud prevention initiatives.
Applicants must hold Grade 12 and a relevant three-year National Diploma or equivalent tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Internal Auditing, or Accounting. Candidates should be between 18 and 35 years old, be South African citizens, and must not have participated in any internship programme before. Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 plus a relevant three-year National Diploma or equivalent tertiary qualification in the field of:
- Risk Management
- Internal Auditing
- Accounting
Knowledge and Competencies:
This role is ideal for an individual who possesses self-motivation, takes initiative, thrives in independent supervision, and has the ability to collaborate with various departments and institutions.
Key Performance Areas:
- Assisting with the development and implementation of the Council Risk Management Strategy
- Assisting in the facilitation of the annual risk assessment and compilation of risk registers
- Compliance with related risk management matters as contained in applicable legislation (MFMA, MSA)
- Developing risk management and fraud prevention related policies and procedures
- Performing other logical activities as may be assigned by the supervisor
