SASSA Internship Programme 2026 – Multiple Posts Available

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) invites TVET college learners and unemployed graduates across South Africa to apply for the Head Office Work Integrated Learning Programme and the Head Office Internship Programme. Opportunities are available in several fields including Human Capital Management, Communication and Marketing, Facilities and Auxiliary Support Services, Finance, Grants Administration, Internal Audit, Information and Communication Technology, Library Information Sciences, EPMO Change Management, Fraud and Corruption Investigations, and Legal Services.
The Work Integrated Learning Programme is offered for a duration of 6 to 18 months with an all-inclusive monthly stipend of R5 639.75, while the Internship Programme runs for 24 months with a monthly stipend of R7 860.50. These programmes are based at SASSA Head Office and are open to qualifying South African citizens across the country who meet the required criteria. Applications must be submitted before the closing date of 14 February 2026.

All applicants must have completed N6: National Certificate and are required to complete a minimum of 6 to 18 months practical work exposure to fulfil the requirements to be awarded a qualification, be South African citizens, and unemployed. Successful candidates will be appointed for a minimum of 6 to 18 months internship Work Integrated Learning contract. An all-inclusive monthly stipend of R5 639,75 will be payable.

Important notes:
Appointments will be subject to compulsory pre-employment screening in the form of qualification, ITC, criminal checks. It is our intention to promote representativity in terms of race, gender and disability through the filling of these post and candidates whose appointment will promote representativity will receive preference. It is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) prior to the selection process.
