Internship Programme – Beaufort West Municipality

Beaufort West Municipality invites applications from interested and enthusiastic individuals for the Building Control Internship Opportunities (X5) within the Directorate: Infrastructure Services. This development initiative aims to provide unemployed youth with valuable workplace training and practical experience as Building Controllers, while enhancing the municipality’s infrastructure service capacity in the local area.

The internship programme is offered for a duration of 12 months with a monthly stipend of R4 500.00, and is based within the Beaufort West Municipal Area. Applications must be submitted before the closing date of Tuesday, 30 January 2026 at 12h00, as no late applications will be considered.

This initiative is presented by the Beaufort West Municipality and offers an opportunity for unemployed youth to be trained as Building Controllers to enhance the Infrastructure Services capacity within the local municipal area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • National Diploma in Civil Engineering / Town Planning / Building Science / N5 Building or any civil building-related field of study with Matric (Grade 12)
  • Clear criminal record (SAPS)
  • Aged between 20–40 years
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must reside within the Beaufort West Municipal Area
    (Please attach an SAPS Address Confirmation or letter from your ward councillor to confirm your residential address)
  • Certified copy of ID book/card
  • Shortlisted candidates will undergo a written diagnostic assessment conducted by the Beaufort West Municipal Infrastructure Services Department: Planning Design and Building Control
    • Successful candidates will qualify for the internship programme
DIRECTION TO CANDIDATES
  • Candidates must be physically fit
  • All applications must be completed on the prescribed municipal application form
  • Applications must include:
    • Cover letter
    • Certified copies of qualifications
    • Certified copy of ID document

Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit a stamped vetting certificate from the South African Police Services (or proof of application).

Failure to submit relevant documentation will disqualify your application.
