The opportunity is available to South African citizens residing in Danielskuil or within a 200 km radius, who have registered or plan to register at a recognised public tertiary institution. For 2026, Idwala will be offering Community Bursaries for core disciplines, e.g.
Chemistry, Mining or Engineering, etc.

This is an exciting opportunity for students residing within a 200 km radius of Danielskuil, through an accredited and recognised tertiary/higher institution of learning.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Applicants must have registered at a South African public institution of higher learning of their choice by the time the bursary is awarded
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Preference will be given to applicants from designated groups
  • Must be a resident of Danielskuil Town or within a 200 km radius
  • Be willing to work and excel in the specialised discipline of study
BURSARY WILL COVER

  • Meals and accommodation costs, depending on availability of funds
HOW TO APPLY

Submit an application with the following:

  • Motivation letter
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • National Certificate, having passed all subjects with 60% and above in all major subjects, and attach 2025 academic year results
  • Proof of enrolment or acceptance letter from a public tertiary institution
  • Certified copy of a valid South African Identity Document
  • Proof of residence
  • Proof of income (for parents/guardians in the case of dependants) or an affidavit with supporting documents where the student does not have one or both parents
  • Disclosure of other sources of financial support

Applicants must submit a complete application that includes a detailed motivation letter, a curriculum vitae, certified copies of academic results with a minimum of 60% in major subjects, and proof of enrolment or an official acceptance letter from a recognised South African public tertiary institution. Additional required documents include a certified copy of a valid South African identity document, proof of residence, proof of household income for parents or guardians, or an affidavit with supporting documents where applicable, as well as disclosure of any other sources of financial support.
