RCL Foods invites enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a passion for baking to apply for the Baking Learnership Programme based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. This 12-month SETA-accredited learnership offers structured mentorship and coaching, providing learners with a strong foundation in the baking process while preparing them for the working environment within the food manufacturing industry.

Successful candidates will gain practical, hands-on workplace experience in line with RCL Foods and SETA requirements throughout the duration of the programme. Upon completion, learners will receive a formal qualification endorsed by SAQA, equipping them with industry-relevant skills and improving employability within the baking and manufacturing sectors.

Through the Supreme Siyabhaka Academy, the programme focuses on developing skilled, work-ready baking professionals, promoting excellence and consistency across baking brands, and raising industry standards for in-store and professional bakery products while strengthening customer confidence and relationships.

Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic, motivated individual with a passion for baking and a desire to enter the world of work?

RCL FOODS is proud to invite dynamic and committed students to apply for the Baking Learnership Programme. We are looking for five (5) learners who will be based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

This learnership is offered over a 12-month period and includes a structured mentorship and coaching programme focused on the full baking process.

The programme is SETA-accredited, and successful learners will receive a formal qualification endorsed by SAQA upon completion.

Learners will gain hands-on practical experience aligned with the requirements of both RCL FOODS and the relevant SETA, ensuring workplace readiness throughout the duration of the qualification.

Through the Supreme Siyabhaka Academy, our objectives are to:

  • Nurture and develop individual learner skills, creating employable young professionals to address skills shortages in the baking industry.
  • Build awareness of RCL FOODS baking brands as symbols of excellence and consistency, associated with best-in-class skills, service, and products.
  • Lead the industry by raising the standard of in-store and professional bakery products, positively shaping consumer perceptions and strengthening customer relationships.
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 qualification with Hospitality Studies and Mathematical Literacy
  • Computer literacy (MS Office) will be an advantage
  • Strong drive to achieve performance goals
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and develop
  • Creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset
