The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) invites applications for internship opportunities in the fields listed below. The GEPFuture Internship Programme is designed to provide structured workplace exposure to unemployed graduates and qualifying students who require practical experience to complete their qualifications.

The internship programme will run for a fixed period from 01 April 2026 to 31 March 2028. Successful candidates will gain valuable hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and exposure within a dynamic public-sector environment aligned with their field of study.

The programme aims to support skills development, enhance employability, and contribute to building a capable and skilled workforce. Preference will be given to candidates who meet the minimum academic requirements and comply with all eligibility criteria outlined for the respective internship disciplines.

GENERAL PRINCIPLES AND REQUIREMENTS

• The programme is aimed at unemployed graduates who have successfully completed at least a three (3)-year Degree or National Diploma, or students who have completed all coursework and require practical workplace exposure to complete a qualification in any of the fields listed above.

• Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained a minimum of 60% aggregate pass mark at undergraduate level (final year) and a minimum of 55% pass mark at postgraduate level.

• Applications are open to South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

• Students who still need to complete or qualify for a Degree or National Diploma should not apply.

• Applicants who have previously benefited from an internship programme or have prior formal employment in the relevant field of study will not be considered.

GEPF will not provide accommodation for candidates attending interviews or for appointed interns.

• GEPF will ensure that its selection and recruitment process is employment equity compliant. Preference will be given to people with disabilities.

• If it is established after appointment that false information was provided, this may lead to termination of the contract.

• Correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only. If you have not been contacted within one (1) month after the closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.

• Applicants must clearly indicate the institutions where they studied on their CVs.
