The Local Government SETA invites unemployed and qualified South African graduates to apply for the 2025/2026 Internship Programme. This 24-month placement offers practical workplace experience across all nine provinces, including opportunities at the Head Office in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.

Position: LGSETA Internship Programme 2025/2026

Stipend: R10 000 per month
Duration: 24 months (non-renewable)

Successful applicants will receive structured on-the-job training, exposure to the local government sector and a monthly stipend of R10 000.00. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Matric certificate
  • Successfully completed a 3- or 4-year Degree / Advanced Diploma in the discipline you are applying for
  • Be computer literate with MS Office packages (MS Project will be an added advantage in certain disciplines)
  • Be a South African citizen and under the age of 25 years
  • Not have previously participated in or completed any internship
  • Have no prior working experience in the field of study
  • Have excellent communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Be prepared to enter into a 24-month internship contract (non-renewable)
  • Possess organisational, interpersonal communication, and time-management skills
  • Please note: Full-time employment after completion of the programme is not guaranteed

STIPEND
R10 000.00 per month for 24 months
