Department of Tourism: Internship Programme 2026/2028

The Department of Tourism invites South African graduates to apply for the 24-month Internship Programme for the period 2026–2028. The programme offers a monthly stipend of R7 450.58 and aims to provide valuable workplace exposure across various fields aligned with the departmental core business. Applicants must be under the age of 35, unemployed, and in possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in one of the listed study areas. Applications must be submitted using the new Z83 form, accompanied by a detailed CV and academic modules.
The Department of Tourism invites interested candidates to apply before the closing date of 19 December 2025. Successful applicants will be placed at the Pretoria office for the full duration of the internship and will be required to sign a 24-month internship contract. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews, and failure to provide the required documents will result in the application not being considered.

HOW TO APPLY?
The application must include only completed and signed new Form Z83, obtainable from any Public Service Department or on the internet at www.gov.za, and a detailed Curriculum Vitae. Certified copies of Identity Document, Senior Certificate and the highest required qualification, will only be submitted by shortlisted candidates to HR on or before the day of the interview date.
Requirements: Unemployed South African Graduates / Postgraduates, with a tertiary qualification in one of the above-mentioned fields of study and who have not been previously employed under any internship programme are invited to apply. Applicants should not be above the age of 35 years. Applications must be submitted on a new Z83 form obtainable from any Public Service Department stating the field for which the applicant is applying (from the above list), and attach your modules to your CV.
Failure to submit the required documents will result in the application not being considered.

Duration: The internship program is offered for a period of 24 months. The successful candidates will be required to sign an internship contract for the duration of two years.
Note: Short-listed candidates will be subjected to an interview to determine their suitability.
